A Wind of Momentum Blows In...

   Hey, everyone! Hope you're all doing well! Things in my world have felt very good and exciting lately, so I felt it was time for an update!
    First things first, I want to talk about what an amazing time I had last Sunday at Big Lon's Vinyl Record Expo at the Kingsport Civic Auditorium as part of Fun Fest. I was so excited to sort of fall into the opportunity to perform on the stage at the Civic. Legendary acts, including Elvis, have played that stage, and that is not lost on me. To add my name to such a list means more to me than I could ever express with words in a blog post. What a great day overall. I got to see some old friends like Chris Long and the guys from Donnie and the Dry Heavers and Responsible Parties. I even made some new friends and found 4 old REM cassette singles that I had to bring home with me. If you are anywhere near the area and love records and the like, I would recommend keeping an eye out for next year's event. The vibes were immaculate, and there were tons of records and other music nerd items to sift through. In addition, I finally got to meet Kris Truelson of WBCM Radio Bristol in person. He and Josh made sure everything ran smoothly with multiple acts throughout the day, and I thought everything sounded great. All in all, it was an overwhelmingly positive experience, and I am so pleased to have been a small part of it. Massive thanks to Lonnie and everyone who helped make the event so memorable for myself and many others.
    In other news, I have scheduled a date in November to hit the studio and record a new song. I'm so excited to have not only this song, but a few others in the chamber, ready to go. If all goes to plan, we'll begin working towards my first full-length record since 2018. I've mentioned the desire to record a full-length in past blog posts. I honestly thought that was an impossibility, but recent events have blown a wind of momentum into my world, making it feel like a potential reality. More on that as the process goes along. The important thing for now is I'm writing songs at a level and with a consistency that I haven't felt in years. It feels good to be "back."
